Point Cloud support fully integrated with Unreal Engine 4.25

It’s finally here, the full official integration of LiDAR support for Unreal Engine 4.25.

In addition to being pre-packaged with the engine itself, the new version brings a number of new features and improvements:

  • Ability to load multiple point cloud segments and maintain frame performance, by introducing a global, dynamic point budget system
  • Dynamic data streaming from storage to RAM, allowing users to load significantly larger assets than before, even on lower specification machines
  • Runtime point cloud alignment, allowing users to quickly re-align their data post-import
  • Asset compression, reducing file size by up to 60%
  • Several quality-of-life and workflow improvements
